Brief Commentary on Numbers 36

by Matt Carter
In Numbers 36 I notice that in the midst of a pragmatic compromise several key principles are revealed. One of these is that land was sacred in Israel. It could not be transferred even from tribe to tribe. Land is not only an environment in which to live. Land is also an economic means of production. In Numbers 36 we also learn that land is given by the LORD, and what the LORD has given, none may separate.
