I notice that Psalm 51 concerns the restoration of a broken and contrite king who seeks forgiveness and deliverance from the Lord. The original context of this psalm is found in 2 Chronicles 11 and 12. Through this psalm we better understand the wonder of God's everlasting mercy. This is one of the seven penitential psalms.
