What I notice in Genesis 43 is another use of 'God Almighty' or El-Shaddai as the name for God in verse 14. A desperately fearful Jacob prays to the God who can overcome the natural and normal course of life. He places his trust in the God Almighty and does not scheme a deceptive plan like a false god as he once did. Instead, he submits to the LORD.
