Brief Commentary on Genesis 13

by Matt Carter
What I notice in Genesis 13 is the mention at the end of the chapter of Abram marking a specific place in the landscape by erecting an altar to the LORD. This practice occurs numerous times throughout the Old Testament. What I appreciate about this is that these specific places take on their sacred significance because of the history that happened there. They are memorials and reminders of the LORD's history with His people.
